Yiding joined HBW as a Patent Agent in 2011. He specializes in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in software engineering and electrical engineering. Yiding is actively involved in obtaining patent protection in areas of technology such as memory devices, electronic design automation, communications, and commercial applications of social networking.
Yiding is a “big picture” thinker. His objective is to fully understand the technology and unique attributes of each innovation. He is dedicated to responsiveness, and to delivering quality work product. He is focused on writing patent applications that are well-designed, clearly articulated and timely.
Yiding has more than two decades of engineering experience in the semiconductor industry. From 1984 to 1988, he served as a Software Engineer with VLSI Technology Inc. in San Jose, California. From 1988 to 1989, Yiding was a Senior Software Engineer with Zycad Corp. in Menlo Park, California. From 1989 to 2008, Yiding held various software and IC design engineering positions at Xilinx Inc., a semiconductor industry leader and the inventor of the FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).
Yiding has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Yiding holds six U.S. patents. He is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
